Asian Wrestling Championship commences in New Delhi

The Asian Wrestling Championship has recently commenced in New Delhi. Indian wrestler Sunil Kumar became the first Indian in 27 years to win a gold medal in the Greco-Roman style, at the Asian Wrestling Championships. Sunil defeated Azat Salidinov of Kyrgyzstan 5-0 to clinch the title in 87 kg category. Last year, he won silver in the tournament.

In 1993, Pappu Yadav won gold in the Greco-Roman wrestling, which forbids the use of legs and holding below waists in the bout.
