Ajit Doval appointed as the new National Security Advisor

The new government at Centre appointed former Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajit Doval as National Security Adviser.
He retired in January 2005 as the chief of Intelligence Bureau. His tenure will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or till further orders, whichever is earlier.
Doval is a 1968-batch IPS officer and is known for his sharp intelligence skills. He was India’s main negotiator with the hijackers of Indian Airlines plane IC-814 taken to Kandahar in 1999.
