The elections have again resurfaced the controversy around electoral funding. The recent controversy around the matter was due to the issuance of the electoral bonds which will give anonymity to the political donors. This has further led to critics to call for more electoral reforms as the EC has the powers to bring in any reform without any legislative amendment.
Even Section 29C points to the fact that all the political parties have to disclose the source of their funds. The parties should also be brought under the RTI and the accounts of political parties should be made public.
