TECH 2019 held by UNESCO and MGIEP

The United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation collaborated with the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable development to conduct the TECH 2019 in December. The TECH is a 3 day conference that brings together government nominated experts, policymakers, stakeholders, government officials, etc. to discuss the use of digital technology for learning and teaching. TECH stands for Transforming Education Conference for Humanity. Countries like Bhutan, New Zealand, Nepal, Japan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Canada, etc. participated in this event. The event also focused on the group of countries called ‘Friends of UNESCO MGIEP’, which is aiming to promote digital technology in a sustainable way to achieve quality education equitably. The ‘transformative digital pedagogy’ was discussed by the conference in context of the Sustainable Development Goal agenda to achieve inclusivity. The Vizag declaration on ‘Guidelines for Digital Learning’ was adopted last year and was also focused on.
