Sanna Marin became the World’s Youngest Serving Prime Minister

34-year-old Sanna Marin became the youngest serving Prime Minister in the World on Sunday, 8th December 2019, after Antti Juhani Rinne resigned as the Prime Minister of Finland on Tuesday, 3rd December 2019 and the Social Democratic Party of Finland appointing Sanna Marin as its candidate for new and 46th Prime Minister of Finland.

The Social Democratic Party emerged as the largest party after the elections in April this year. Sanna Marin became the third female Government leader of Finland, a Nordic nation with a population of 5.5 million people (55 lakh).
Marin, currently the Minister of Transport and Communications, will assume the office as the Prime Minister of Finland from Tuesday, 10th December 2019
