National Traders Welfare Board

The Ministry of Commerce and Industries has approved the setting up of the National Traders’ Welfare Board.

Mandate of the National Traders Welfare Board

The mandates of the board include:

  • To identify ways to improve access to funds for the unorganised sector of Traders.
  • To suggest measures to simplify acts and rules applicable to traders.
  • To make recommendations to reduce the compliance burden of traders as well as to ensure social security benefits such as insurance, pension, and healthcare for traders and their employees.

The National Traders Welfare Board will be headed by a joint secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion and will include representation from other ministers.
