India and Bangladesh ink key agreements in I&B sector
For further deepening of engagements between India and Bangladesh, At the Information and Broadcasting Minister’s meet 2020 both countries have signed key agreements in the field of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) in New Delhi on Tuesday, 14th January 2020.
A co-production agreement was signed between the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar and his Bangladeshi counterpart Muhammad H Mahmud for a biopic on the First President of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman titled `Bangabandhu’ (Bangabandhu is the title dubbed for the first President of Bangladesh). The film will be released during the birth centenary year of Bangabandhu.
To mark the birth centenary year of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangladesh Government has decided to celebrate `Mujib Year’ from 17th March 2020 to 17th March 2021.
An airtime exchange programme was also launched between PrasarBharati and Bangladesh Radio Betar. Content from Bangladesh Radio Betar and content from Maitree service has started airing on All India Radio in Kolkata and Dhaka respectively.
