IIT Gandhinagar launches Project Isaac

IIT Gandhinagar has launched Project Isaac to engage its students online in various creative activities during the ongoing lockdown period.

About the Project

Project Isaac was launched by IIT Gandhinagar to keep its students engaged during the lockdown period. It aims at enhancing skills like writing, coding, painting, creative expression, music, etc. among its students. It is to conduct several online competitions for the students to take part in.

Competitions under the Project

Some of the competitions under the project includes 12 Days of Code in which students work on a new coding problem every day for 12 days, Leadership Video Challenge in which students write about selected Ted and TedX talks, Don’t Quarantine Your Cornea in which they write reviews on TV/ web series, etc.

Sir Isaac Newton

The project is named after and inspired by Sir Isaac Newton, the English mathematician and physicist. During the Great Plague of London in 1665, Newton was sent home by the Trinity College in Cambridge. It was during this period that he developed some of his noted works, including calculus, theories of optics and gravity.
