The 14th Edition of the Indo-US Joint Special Forces exercise “VAJRA PRAHAR 2023” commenced at the Joint Training Node, Umroi, Meghalaya.
The Indian Army contingent is led by Special Forces personnel from the Eastern Command. The first edition was conducted in the year 2010 in India.

The Atal Innovation Mission, a part of NITI Aayog, introduced the Rapid Innovation and Startup Expansion (RISE) accelerator program in New Delhi.
This initiative is designed to assist startups and small to mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) focused on circular economy technologies and solutions, fostering collaboration between India and Australia.

To assess and verify their approach to pollution response, the Indian Coast Guard collaborated with various government and private entities and inaugurated the 9th edition of the multi-agency National Level Pollution Response Exercise (NATPOLREX) in Vadinar, Gujarat.
The practical sea-based segment and evaluation of real-world capabilities were organised off the coast of Vadinar.

Bengaluru Safe City Command Centre was inaugurated recently by the Karnataka Chief minister Siddaramaiah.
The command center is built with the cost of ₹660 crores under Nirbhaya Yojana. While the central government contributed 60 per cent of the project cost, the state government spent another 40 per cent on it.

The United States of America, Germany, and Colombia are the partner countries for the 24th edition of the Hornbill Music Festival.
The festival will take place from December 1–10, 2023 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, Kohima. The festival represents all ethnic groups of Nagaland for which it is also called the Festival of Festivals. The first festival was held in December 2000.

The Union Government has exempted the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), the national nodal agency to deal with cyber security threats like hacking and phishing, from the purview of the Right to Information Act, 2005.
The Centre has used its powers given under sub-section (2) of Section 24 of the RTI Act to exempt CERT-In from the purview of the transparency law. Using those powers, the Centre has included CERT-In at serial number 27 in the Second Schedule of the RTI Act.

North Korea has said it successfully launched a military spy satellite on its third attempt in six months.
The reconnaissance satellite Malligyong-1 was accurately put on its orbit, after it was launched from the Sohae Satellite Launching Station.

The ‘Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics 2023’ report was released by the Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying during National Milk Day event.
It is based on the Animal Integrated Sample Survey (March 2022 to February 2023). Production of milk, egg and meat has significantly increased in 2022-23 over the past five years, though wool output during the same period has witnessed a negative growth.

The central government has issued a notification approving the proposal to merge the Noradehi Sanctuary with the Durgavati Sanctuary of the Damoh district, creating a vast tiger reserve spanning 2,300 square kilometres.
Damoh district in Madhya Pradesh is set to become home to the country’s largest tiger reserve.
