Paolo Gentiloni
Paolo Gentiloni has been appointed as the new Prime Minister of Italy by President Sergio Mattarella, after Matteo Renzi’s resignation due to the results of the 2016 Italian constitutional referendum, in which voters rejected constitutional reform. Previously, Gentiloni was Minister of Communications from 2006 to 2008, during the second government of Romano Prodi.
