The Haryana government has recently launched the Mahila Police Volunteer (MPV) initiative in Karnal and Mahendragarh districts of Haryana to bridge the gap between Police and Civil society. With this, Haryana has become the first Indian state to adopt this scheme. Mahila Police Volunteer is a joint initiative with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The MPV initiative will create a link between the police authorities and the local communities in villages through police volunteers who will be women specially trained for this purpose.
