The theme of the 2016 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) is “Women Empowerment”. The excerpts of the 2016 IIFM awards are Sonam Kapoor won the best actress award for her performance in Neerja Bhanot’s biopic “Neerja” and Nawazuddin Siddiqui bagged the best actor award for his role of psycho serial killer in “Raman Raghav 2.0”, ShakunBatra (Best Director) and Thithi (Best Indie Film). Beside this, Rishi Kapoor was honoured with the lifetime achievement award for excellence in cinema. The IFFM is a Victorian Government initiative that aims to strengthen ties between the Indian film industry and Victoria.
