The Engineer’s Day is celebrated every year on September 15 in India in memory of the Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. Visvesvaraya was the chief engineer responsible for the construction of the Krishna Raja Sagara dam in Mysore and also the chief designer of the flood protection system for the city of Hyderabad. The theme of the 49th edition of Engineers’ Day 2016 is “Skill Development for Young Engineers to Reform the Core Sector: Vision 2025”.
