India has recently signed an agreement with Egypt in the area of Maritime Transport in New Delhi to step up co-operation on the seas. The agreement will strengthen cooperation and provide sustained mutual assistance and advice on merchant shipping and other related maritime matters. It is signed during the 3-day visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to India on September 1-3, 2016. This is the first presidential visit to Egypt from India since the visit of then President Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
