Goa
The Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is located on western tip of the Island of Chorao along the Mandovi River in Goa. The sanctuary is an estuarine mangrove habitat and is named after Salim Ali, the famous Indian ornithologist. The sanctuary is host to little bittern, black bittern, red knot, jack snipe, pied avocet, striated heron, western reef heron, mudskippers, fiddler crabs, etc.
