Qutub-ud-din Aibak
Sultan Qutb-ud-din Aibak laid the foundation of Mamluk (Slave dynasty) rule in 1206 AD. He was a Turkic king of Northwest India who ruled from his capital in Delhi where he built the Qutb Minar and the Quwwatul-Islam Mosque.
