Dasht-e Margo is the world's 20th largest desert with 150,000 square kilometres in area. It is located in the southern provinces of Helmand and Nimruz in Afghanistan. It has an elevation of 500–700 m. The desert's name means "Desert of Death" in Dari, with dasht meaning "plain" and margo meaning "death"
