Notes: Damodar River, which flows in Jharkhand and West Bengal, originates from a place called ChulhaPani in Lohardaga district, Chota Nagpur Plateau, Jharkhand and it ends in Hooghly River in West Bengal. It was once called Sorrow of Bengal due to devastating floods though now construction of several dams have controlled the floods to a great extent. It is one of the most polluted rivers of India.
