Jallianwalla Bagh Massacre (1919): To protest against the repressive policies of the British Government, the unarmed peaceful people were gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar on April 13, 1919. To suppress mass agitation, General Dyer ordered his troops to open fire on them without warning. That act of cruelty and barbarism by the britishers in that bagh was known in history as Jallianwalla Bagh Massacre (or Amritsar Massacre).
