He was a Sanskrit poet who composed many plays, descriptive poems, a satirical novel, etc. Some of his famous works are Brihat kathamanjari, Ramayana Manjari, Suvrittatilaka, Dashavatara Charita (Ten incarnations of Vishnu), Avadana kalpalata, etc.
