Letter of Intent exchanged between India and Singapore for Chandipur missile test range

During 4th India-Singapore Defence Ministers’ Dialogue which was co-chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his Singapore counterpart Dr Ng Eng Hen, a letter of Intent was exchanged that paved the way for Singapore to conduct live firing of missiles at the Integrated test missile range situated at Odisha’s Chandipur. The 4th Defence Ministers Dialogue was held in Singapore.

Both nations also agreed to hold trilateral maritime exercise annually. India-Singapore-Thailand first three-nation Naval exercise was conducted in Andaman sea in September.

India -Singapore bilateral defence relationship

2003- A bilateral agreement was signed on conducting Joint military training, developing military technologies, expanding military cooperations and for achieving maritime security.

?India-Singapore Military exercise, Naval Exercise/drills held in 2019-

  • Bold Kurukshetra 2019- 12th edition, Military Exercise held at Babina, Uttar Pradesh from 8th- 11th April.
  • SIMBEX 2019- Naval Exercise, held at South China sea in May.

Apart from this, Both nations also participated in the 12th edition of IMDEX Asia 2019, which is a biennial international maritime defence event in the Asia Pacific in which 296 companies from 30 countries participated in 2019.
