East Central Railway Recruitment 2019- 2234 vacancies for Apprentices

East Central Railway invites online applications for 2234 posts of Act Apprentices for imparting training under the Apprentice Act 1961. The selected candidates would be designated at various Divisions and Units falling under the jurisdiction of East Central Railways.

How to Apply

Opening of Online Application: 11/12/2018 (11:00 hrs)

Last Date and Time to Apply: 10/01/2019 (17:00 hrs). Candidates can apply till 17.00 hrs on 10/01/2019.

The website will have detailed instructions for filling up the online application. Candidates are requested to fill up their personal details carefully.

Photograph:

Candidates will have to upload a colour photo with size 3.5 cm X 3.5 cm in JPG/JPEG format. The photograph should be in 100 DPI with a size between 20 kb to 70 kb.

Signature:

Candidates will have to upload a scanned image (100 DPI) of their signature with size 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm in JPG/JPEG format). The size of the image should be between 10 kb to 30 kb.

Note: After submission of the online application, the candidates will be issued a registration number which has to be preserved by the candidate for the further stages of the recruitment process.

Educational Qualification

Aspiring candidates should have passed the Matric/10th class examination or its equivalent. The candidates must have secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board and in case of ITI in a relevant trade.

Mode of Selection

The candidates will be selected only on the basis of merit. The merit list will be drafted by taking into account the average of the %age of marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examination. Both will be given equal weightage.

For the calculation of %age of marks obtained in matriculation, marks obtained in ALL subjects will be taken into account. It shall not be based on any one subject or a group of subjects.

In the case of two candidates obtaining equal marks, the candidate with older age would be preferred. If the date of birth is also the same, then the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier than the other would be preferred.

Age Limit

Minimum: 15 years

Upper Age Limit: Candidates should not have completed 24 years on 11.12.2018.

The upper age is relaxable as follows:

  • SC/ST communities: 5 years
  • OBC communities: 3 years
  • Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST candidates.
  • Ex-servicemen: Total Military service +3 years

Application Fee

  • The candidates should pay a fee of Rs. 100 as part of the online application process.

Medical Fitness

The selected candidates have to undergo a medical test for which they have to pay a sum of Rs 24.

Document verification and medical examination will be held in opted Divisions/Units, as per the choice of Division/Unit as mentioned in the Candidate’s application.
