What is Rosh Hashanah?

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year which is observed on the first day of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar. It is considered the first day of Ten Days of Repentance which are days to focus on repentance that conclude with the holiday of Yom Kippur. So this is the start of New Year in Hebrew calendar. It commemorates the creation of the world as narrated in the Bible.
