Ancient Monuments Preservation Act 1904

One of the most remarkable acts passed during the times of Lord Curzon was the Ancient Monuments Preservation Act of 1904. This act made any injury to the protected monuments an offence punishable under the law. This act also established the Archeological Department which was to collect the historical documents and importance, conduct excavations and bring the ancient historical information into light.
