Abdullah Barha Sayyid

Abdullah Barha Sayyid was the name of elder of the two sayyid brothers who controlled the administration of the Mughal Empire from 1713 when they put on the throne Furruksiyar till his fall in 1719. During this short period Abdullah with the help of his brother Husain did all what pleased them. In 1719 they deposed and killed emperor Furruksiyar and in the course of the same year imposed and deposed 4 other successive mughal emperors until at last they placed on the throne their fifth protégé Muhammad Shah Rangila. Muhammad Shah Rangila was clever enough to remove Husain by assassination and to defeat and imprison Abdullah. Abdullah Barha Sayyid was given poision in 1722 and was thus sent to hell.
