Veteran journalist Dilip Padgaonkar passes away

Veteran journalist Dilip Padgaonkar passed away at the age of 72 due to illness. He was one among three-member interlocutors group for Jammu and Kashmir appointed by the UPA in 2008. Padgaonkar started his career in journalism at the age of 24 as Times of India’s Paris correspondent. He was serving as the paper’s editor for six years. From 1978 to 1986, Padgaonkar worked for UNESCO in Bangkok and Paris. He is a graduate of political science from Fergusson College and received a doctorate in humanities from the Sorbonne in 1968.
