TV Awareness Campaign on FASTag released
The Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Nitin Gadkari released a TV awareness campaign on FASTag on Tuesday, 17th December 2019. The TV campaign featuring renowned Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who is also the brand ambassador of Ministry’s Road Safety will give the FASTag initiative a further fillip.
The FASTag initiative was rolled all over the country on 15th December 2019, and the Minister informed that more than 1crore FASTag have been issued as of 17th December 2019. Over the digital mode of toll collection FASTag, Rs 80 crore from more than 2 million transactions per day has been achieved as on 17th December 2019.
The Minister called upon as quickly as possible for the remaining vehicle users to switch over to FASTags. The electronic toll collection system, FASTag, will benefit the vehicle users by facilitating smooth vehicular movement through National Highway Toll Plazas, saving time and money of the users.
