Google on April 6, 2020 said it will now show the locations of food and night shelters on Google Maps in cities across India to help people find these essential services during the ongoing lockdown.

Salary, allowances and pension of MPs cut by 30% for one year

Members of Parliament including Union Ministers will get 30% less salary, allowances and pension for a year from April 1. The government will promulgate an ordinance to amend the salary, allowances and pension of Members of Parliament Act, 1954 for enabling this reduction.

Union Cabinet on April 6, 2020 approved the temporary suspension of MPLAD Fund of MPs during 2020-21 and 2021-22 for managing health and the adverse impact of the outbreak of COVID-19 in India. The consolidated amount of MPLAD Funds for two years — Rs 7,900 crore — will go to the Consolidated Fund of India.
