TIFF 2019: Meryl Streep wins Tribute Actor award
Veteran actor Meryl Streep will be honoured with Tribute Actor award at 2019 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). She will receive award in person on 9 September 2019 during TIFF’s Tribute Gala, a festival fundraiser. She will be 1st-ever recipient of TIFF Tribute Actor Award.

The 70-year-old actress is one of the most talented and versatile actors of her generation.
She is most nominated actor in Academy Award history and has won Oscar three times.
Her contribution to cinema, television and stage spans 5 decades, is tremendous as she has portrayed characters that are as compelling as they are timeless.
About Toronto International Film Festival
It is one of the world’s largest publicly attended film festivals. Every year it attracts, more than 480,000 people. It was founded in 1976 and operates out of the TIFF Bell Lightbox, located in downtown Toronto in Canada.

TIFF 2019 will run from 5-15 September.
TIFF’s Tribute Gala is basically a Charity Gala or a glitzy fundraiser that support festival’s year-around efforts to promote films and industry’s leading creators.
