Scientists participated in seminar on ‘Western Ghats and Dam Management’

Scientists participated in a seminar on ‘Western Ghats and Dam Management’ and advice an integrated approach to deal with climate change. While referring to the recent flood disasters in Kerala, N. Purnachandra Rao, Director, NCESS said that many of the environment –related issues such as land degradation were “silent killers” and there is need for sincere efforts to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases. He also stressed on the need for generation of flood hazard models for Kerala.
