Pakistan to conduct its first census in 19 years

Pakistan is going to conduct its first national census in 19 years and overall sixth population census. It will be conducted in two phases and will be completed by May 25, 2017. It will be conducted by 118,918 civilian enumerators with the assistance of over 200,000 soldiers. The soldiers will provide security and help in verification of data collected by the enumerators. The first phase will start from March 15, 2017 and conclude on April 15, 2017. After a ten day gap the second phase will start from April 25, 2017 and conclude on May 25, 2017. Last time Pakistan had conducted a census in 1998, which recorded a national population of approximately 180 million at that time.
