Measures taken by the Government to prevent crime against Women

The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, G.Kishan Reddy in a written reply to Lok Sabha on Tuesday, 10th December 2019 informed that women safety is a high priority for the Government and has implemented several schemes and initiatives which are-
(1) The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2013 enacted for effective deterrence against sexual offences.
(2)The Criminal Law (Amendment) Act 2018 enacted for the death penalty for rape of a girl below the age of 12years and mandates completion of trials and investigation within 2 months each.
(3)Emergency Response Support System, pan India single number 112 for all emergencies.
(4)Safe City Projects  (5) Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA) has launched the National Database on Sexual Offenders (NDSO) on 20th September 2018
(6) MHA has launched an online analytical tool for police on 19th February 2019 called ‘Investigation Tracking System for Sexual Offences’.
(7)One-Stop Centre Scheme
