Kuldeep Singh and Suman Kalyanpur to be conferred with National Lata Mangeshkar Award
Famous Hindi music director Kuldeep Singh and eminent playback singer, Suman Kalyanpur has been selected for the Madhya Pradesh government’s prestigious National Lata Mangeshkar Award as informed by the officials on Thursday, 16th January 2020. For the year 2018, Kuldeep Singh will be conferred with the award in the field of music direction, while for the year 2017 Suman Kalyanpur will be awarded in the field of singing. The award will be conferred during an event to be conducted in Indore in the first week of February, under which a cash award of Rs 2 lakh and a memento will be presented to both the artists.
The Madhya Pradesh government instituted the award in 1984-85 to recognize the contribution made by the artists in the field of music. The national award has been named after legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, as the birthplace of the 90-year-old Lata Mangeshkar is in Indore, the award ceremony is conducted at Indore.
