Jammu and Kashmir recieves highest road lenght under PMGSY in 2019

Under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Jammu and Kashmir have received the highest completed road length of 11,400 km against the total sanctioned length of 19,700 km in 2019.

PMGSY with the objective of providing connectivity to rural areas was launched in the year 2000 by then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

A total of 2214 habitations are to be covered in the total sanctioned length of 19700 km, so far 1838 habitations have been covered and provided with connectivity in the completed 11,400 km.
