Indian Army successfully conducts Summer User Trials of Nag Missile
Indian Army has successfully conducted summer user trials of NAG, 3rd Generation Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM). The test was carried out at Pokhran Field Firing Ranges in Rajasthan. Trials were conducted by user team from Indian Army as per user defined trial directive in presence of senior officials of the Army and DRDO.
As part of NAG Missile summer user trials, 6 missions were conducted under extreme temperature conditions of Pokhran Ranges. Missile system has already cleared winter user trials in February 2019.
Result: All missiles met mission objectives such as minimum range, maximum range, in direct attack and top attack modes and also achieved a direct hit onto the target.
Way Ahead: Completion of summer user trials will now pave the way for production and induction of missile system into Indian Army. Center Government has already issued Acceptance of Necessity for induction of NAG after user trials.
