India to provide 'Visa-on-Arrival' services to 30 countries
The Indian Government is planning to start Visa-on-Arrival services for 30 countries including China. As per the Tourism Ministry, Beijing has a huge potential for exchanges in the sector. The proposal has to be cleared by the Home Ministry.
About Visa-on-Arrival Service:
- Objective: To ensure that India has at least 1% share in the international tourist arrivals, which is about 0.64%.
- Under Visa-on-Arrival facility, a traveler can go straight to the intended country and get visa at the airport itself.
- Current Status: Currently, India has extended Visa on Arrival facilities to 11 countries including Singapore, Japan, Ne
w Zealand, Vietnam and Philippines.
