Google develops a new 54-qubit processor ‘Sycamore’
Google has officially claimed that its researchers achieved a breakthrough in the field of ‘Quantum Supremacy’. The term was coined by American theoritical physicist ‘ John Preskill’ to describe a point where quantum computers can perform any task that can’t be performed by the classical computers. The tech giant have claimed that they have developed a new 54-qubit processor – ‘Sycamore’ – that is comprised of fast, high-fidelity quantum logic gates, in order toperform the benchmark testing
