Food Processing Summit in Ladakh organized on Thursday

To attract investors to the region, Union Territory Ladakh is hosting the first-ever Food Processing Summit which is organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry under the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh.
The event efforts for encouraging the young generation for becoming entrepreneurs and in initiating StartUps to make use of the multidimensional potentials available across the Food Processing sector in the newly formed union territory. Along with the support of the Government of India’s ‘Invest India’, participants were explained the procedures of the various investment process for setting up Startups.
With a large variety of horticulture products such as Apricot, Sea buckThorn, Apple and Agricultural products like buckwheat and barley, Ladakh has a vast scope in investing these products in Food Processing Industries. The First Divisional Commissioner of Ladakh, Saugat Biswas spoke that over a hundred entrepreneurs from Kargil and Leh are taking part in the Summit.
