Eminent Jurist Justice JS Verma passed away
Justice JS Verma (80), former Chief Justice of India, passed away.
- He was in news recently for heading a committee set up by the Government of India to suggest changes in law to combat crimes against women.
He was 27th Chief Justice of India.
He served as the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission.
Prior to this, he served as the Chief Justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court and was also the Chief Justice of Rajasthan high court.
