Bhaskar Rao appointed as Lokayukta of Karnataka

Former Chief Justice of Karnataka, Bhaskar Rao, has been appointed as the Lokayukta of Karnatka. The chair of the anti-corruption ombudsman was vacant after previous Lokayukta Justice Shivraj V. Patil was forced to resign after the media expose of illegal land allotments in 2011.
