Answer: 15 July 1948
Notes: PEPSU was formed on 15 July 1948, merging Patiala, Nabha, Jind, Malerkotla, Faridkot, Kapurthala, Nalagarh, and Kalsia. It replaced Punjab Riyasti Praja Mandal. In 1956, PEPSU merged into Punjab under States Reorganisation Act. PEPSU Pradesh Congress became the political organization in this new union.
