1804 A.D.
The Battle of Khurbura, also known as the Battle of Khudbuda, took place in May 1804. The battle occurred near the modern-day village of Dehradun, which is called "Khurbura". The battle is considered the first major attack in the history of the Garhwal Kingdom.
The battle lasted 13 days. Pradyumna Shah, the king of Garhwal, fought with 10,000 soldiers against the Gurkha invaders from Nepal. Shah died on May 14, 1804 while saving his kingdom.
