The battle is considered the first major attack in the history of the Garhwal Kingdom. The battle lasted 13 days. Pradyumna Shah, the king of Garhwal, fought with 10,000 soldiers against the Gurkha invaders from Nepal. Shah died on May 14, 1804 while saving his kingdom.
