Tri-Services ‘Nari Sashaktikaran Women Motorcycle Rally’

In a remarkable tribute to commemorate 24 years of victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War of 1999, the Indian Army launched the Tri-Services ‘Nari Sashaktikaran Women Motorcycle Rally.’ This rally not only celebrates the historic triumph but also shines a light on the indomitable spirit of women.

Launching the Rally: A Symbol of Strength

On 18th July 23, the all-women Motorcycle Rally was flagged off by General Manoj Pande, the Chief of the Army Staff. The significance of this gesture reflects the acknowledgment of women’s crucial role in the armed forces and their immense contribution to the nation.

Team Strength and Participants

The tri-services team participating in the Rally consists of 25 individuals who are ready to take on this unique challenge. Among them, two Veer Naris, including one serving officer, symbolize the valor and sacrifice displayed by the Armed Forces. Additionally, 10 serving Indian Army Women officers, one woman officer each from the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy, three women soldiers of the Indian Army, and eight Armed Forces spouses comprise this inspiring team.

Strategic Partnership: Indian Army and TVS Motor Company

The Indian Army has partnered with TVS Motor Company, a renowned motorcycle manufacturer, for this groundbreaking Rally. The participants will ride on TVS Ronin motorcycles, showcasing the collaborative effort to empower women in various domains, including the military.

The Journey Ahead: Distance and Destination

Covering an impressive total distance of approximately 1000 kilometers, the team embarks on a challenging expedition. The route takes them through the plains of Haryana and Punjab, as well as the treacherous high mountain passes of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Their ultimate destination is the Kargil War Memorial in Dras, where they will pay tribute to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation’s honor.
