Police services and performance
Shah said the force’s beat policing app helps citizens access services without visiting police stations. He also stated that, since 4 August 2024, Chandigarh Police had registered 8,206 FIRs and filed online charge sheets in 7,590 cases. He cited an 85% conviction rate overall and a 93% conviction rate in cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, following implementation of the new criminal laws.
Shah said the Union government aimed to build a drug-free India and that Chandigarh would be the country’s first drug-free city.
