Capacity Enhancement for Effective Forest Management Project Launched

The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, launched a workshop on the Capacity Enhancement for Effective Forest Management Project in New Delhi on 25 September 2026. The workshop was organised by the Ministry in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and involved officers from forest, research, and training institutions.

The Capacity Enhancement for Effective Forest Management Project is scheduled for the period 2025-26 to 2031-32. The project is linked to cooperation between India and Japan in the forestry sector, and JICA is a Japanese government agency that supports international development cooperation.

The project focuses on frontline forest personnel, who handle forest protection, wildlife management, and field-level implementation under changing environmental conditions.
