Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple in Seychelles

The Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple is a Hindu temple in Victoria, the capital of Seychelles. It was constructed in 1992 by the Hindu community and is dedicated to Lord Vinayagar, also known as Lord Ganesha.

The temple stands in Victoria on Mahé, the main island of Seychelles. It is the only Hindu temple in Seychelles and serves the Hindu community in the island nation.

Architecture and Structure

The temple follows Dravidian architectural style. Its entrance tower, or gopuram, rises to nearly 100 feet and carries multicoloured sculptural details.

Religious and Cultural Functions

The temple hosts the Kavadi Festival in January or February and the Hindu Chariot Procession in August or September. The Government of Seychelles grants Hindus a limited holiday on Thaipoosam day.
