India Smart Cities Conclave 2023
The India Smart Cities Conclave, organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, is set to take place at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on September 26 and 27. This event will bring together all 100 smart cities in India, leading a transformative shift in city development through urban innovation. The Conclave serves as a platform for these cities to highlight their exemplary work under the Smart Cities Mission and shape the future of urban transformation in the country.
India Smart Cities Award Contest (ISAC) 2022
One of the highlights of the Conclave is the felicitation of the winners of the fourth edition of the India Smart Cities Award Contest (ISAC) 2022. Organized under the Smart Cities Mission since 2018, ISAC recognizes pioneering city strategies, projects, and ideas, facilitating peer-to-peer learning and sharing best practices in urban development.
Day 1: Inauguration of an exhibition showcasing the award-winning projects under ISAC 2022 and smart cities, dialogues with CEOs of smart cities, and site visits to iconic projects in Indore and Ujjain.
Day 2: Distribution of ISAC 2022 awards to 5 States/UT, 31 unique cities, and 7 partner organizations, totaling 66 winners. The Smart Cities Mission will release reports, including the ISAC 2022 award compendium, a report by UN-Habitat on localizing Sustainable Development Goals, a compendium of newsletters, and an ISAC 2023 award pamphlet. The day will conclude with a cultural program.
Smart Cities Mission
Launched on June 25, 2015, the Smart Cities Mission aims to provide core infrastructure, a clean and sustainable environment, and a high quality of life to urban citizens through smart solutions. It is a transformative initiative designed to revolutionize urban development in India. To date, over 6,000 projects worth more than Rs 1.1 lakh crore have been completed, with the remaining projects set for completion by June 30, 2024.
