DigiLocker Crosses 72 Crore Users; UMANG Reaches 11 Crore

DigiLocker and the Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) are digital public platforms under the Digital India programme. As of 31 July 2026, DigiLocker had more than 72.43 crore registered users, while UMANG had more than 11.66 crore registered users.

DigiLocker Platform

DigiLocker is a cloud-based digital document wallet launched under the Digital India initiative. It allows citizens to store and access digital copies of documents and certificates issued by government departments and agencies.

By 31 July 2026, DigiLocker had recorded about 72.86 crore document access transactions over the previous three years. The platform hosted 5,437 document types and services, including 661 services from the Central Government and 4,776 services from State Governments.

UMANG Platform

UMANG is a mobile application that provides access to multiple government services through a single digital interface. It is designed for service delivery across Central and State Government departments.

By 31 July 2026, UMANG had recorded around 798 crore transactions over the previous three years. The platform offered 2,575 active services, including 880 Central Government services and 1,695 State Government services.

Common Service Centres and Rural Access

Common Service Centres (CSCs) are access points for delivery of government and utility services in rural and semi-urban areas. They are part of the Digital India ecosystem and support digital banking, pension, and utility-related services.

As of 30 June 2026, 4,07,122 CSCs were functional at the Gram Panchayat level across India. Women Village Level Entrepreneurs operated 70,069 of these functional rural CSCs.
