Chhattisgarh approved 10% reservation for Agniveers in direct recruitment to selected Class-III state government posts on 22 July 2026. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, and the state approved the Chhattisgarh Reservation of Vacancies in Class-III Civil Services for Agniveer Soldiers Rules, 2026.

Agniveer Scheme

Agniveers are recruits enrolled under the Agnipath scheme for service in the Indian Armed Forces. The scheme provides a four-year tenure, after which eligible personnel receive a discharge certificate and other service-related benefits as per the applicable rules.

Reservation Framework in Chhattisgarh

The 10% reservation applies to direct recruitment in selected Class-III posts in the state government. The covered posts include police constables in the Police Department, forest guards in the Forest and Climate Change Department, and jail warders in the Jail Department.

Only Agniveers from Chhattisgarh who have completed four years of service in the armed forces and hold a valid discharge certificate are eligible under the new rules.
