AIM-STPI GCC Innovation Collaboration
The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), under NITI Aayog, partnered with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) on 30 June 2026 to organise the GCC Conclave on Innovation 2026 in Bengaluru. The event brought together Global Capability Centres, technology firms, startups, incubators, and policymakers for discussions on innovation linkages in India.
Atal Innovation Mission and STPI
AIM is a flagship innovation programme of NITI Aayog, which is the Government of India’s policy think tank. STPI is an autonomous society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and operates a nationwide network of technology parks and incubation facilities.
Global Capability Centres in India
Global Capability Centres, or GCCs, are offshore units of multinational companies that provide technology, research, analytics, finance, and business support services. India hosts more than 2,100 GCCs, and these centres generate nearly USD 100 billion in annual revenue.
AACESS Industrial Accelerator Programme
The conclave discussed the proposed AACESS, or Atal Acceleration Centres for Scale-up of Startups, Industrial Accelerator Programme. The programme is designed to provide growth-stage startups with access to industrial testing environments, pilot opportunities, and mentorship.
Innovation Linkages and Enterprise Scale-up
The discussions covered linkages between school-level innovation, startup development, and enterprise scale-up. The participants included representatives from Intel, IBM, Bosch, Amazon, SAP, NVIDIA, Samsung, Shell, Mercedes-Benz, Philips, Morgan Stanley, Wipro, and Yahoo.
